Field stock can be dug per order generally during the months of May, June, and August through October. We do stop digging in July when the fields are in peak color.
Please remember that due to weather, field conditions and time constraints, we are not able to dig field stock "on the spot." We generally need at least 4-7 days lead time from when you place your order to when we can have your plants clean and ready.
Field Stock orders can be picked up here at the nursery, or can be shipped anywhere across the country.
Daylilies (and all other stock) already in containers are ready for immediate purchase and pick-up.
If you happened to read the June 2004 issue of Horticulture magazine you might have been interested in their article entitled "The Charms of Heirloom Daylilies," which was very well written. Unfortunately we were not listed as a source for many of the antique hybrids and species listed in the article. Many of the species types are fairly early bloomers, so if you want to see them in flower you should probably stop out in June.
